Set A First Person

Set A Subject Pronoun Prefixes occur with intransitive verbs, generally speaking all verbs of action will often be Set A.
First Person, Singular:

g – before vowels, tsi – (ji – ) before consonants.


tsiwoniha = tsi – pronominal prefix, woniha – speaking. tsiwoniha can be seen written jiwoniha. tsiwoniha means I am speaking

gega = g – pronoun prefix, ega – go. ega means I am going/I go.

First Person, Dual, Inclusive:

in – before vowels, ini – before consonants.

iniwoniha = ini – pronominal prefix, woniha – speaking. iniwoniha means you and I are speaking.

inega = in – pronoun prefix, ega – go. inega means you and I are going/you and I go.
Remember inclusive means including you, the person being spoken to.

First Person, Dual, Exclusive:

osd – before vowels, osdi – before consonants.

osdiwoniha = osdi – pronominal prefix, woniha – speaking. osdiwoniha means he/she and I are speaking.

osdega = osd – pronoun prefix, ega – go. osdega means he/she and I are going/he/she and I go.
Remember exclusive means not you, the person being spoken to.

First Person, Plural, Inclusive:

id – before vowels, idi – before consonants.

idiwoniha = idi – pronominal prefix, woniha – speaking. idiwoniha means we are all speaking/all of us are speaking.

idega = id – pronoun prefix, ega – go. idega means we are all going/all of us are going.

First Person, Plural, Exclusive:

ots – (oj – ) before vowels, otsi – (oji – ) before consonants.

otsiwoniha = otsi – pronominal prefix. woniha – speaking. otsiwoniha means they and I are speaking. otsiwoniha can be seen written ojiwoniha.

otsega = ots – pronoun prefix. ega – go. otsega means they and I are going/they and I go. otsega can be seen written ojega.

Before I give you some verbs for you to try to place Set A pronominal prefixes on remember…..this is only First Person Set A Prefixes. First Person is the Speaker, “I,” that is doing the action. I is always included. Dual is exactly two people. For the purposes of this lesson, Dual is I and one other person doing the action. It could be inclusive (including you, the person being spoken to) or exclusive (he/she, but NOT you, the person being spoken to). Plural is three or more people performing the action. Inclusive and exclusive are included in First Person Plural Set A Pronoun Prefixes.
