Galiquadu is pronounced g – short a – l – gw – short a – d – oo.
To note I have seen seventeen spelt galiquodu. Eastern Cherokee adds ‘hi (h – long e)’ to the end of the teen number (13 – 19). I was taught both ways and have never experienced correction pronouncing it one way or the other. I tend to use this pronunciation in everyday speaking (fast talk) and I add the ‘hi’ to the end in writing, especially in syllabary
neladu is eighteen in Tsalagi. ne is the English n and long a in nate. la is the English l and short a sound in lap. du is the English d and oo in dew. neladu is pronounced n – long a – l – short a – d – oo.

*Some Kituwah speakers drop the first i; it is silent. So talisgohi becomes pronounced t – short a – l – s – g – long o – h – long e.
I do not know if Overhill pronounces it this way, too. I do know that no one has ever misunderstood me when I drop the i

Some speakers will not say the short i in hi.
Eastern tend to add hi at the end of their numbers and ts sounds like the English ch blend in church. So talisgohitsoihi would be pronounced t – short a – l – short i – s – g – long o – h – short i – ch – long o – short i -h – long e.

Note: Some speakers drop the first short i (i in tali). The l sound in li is rolled into the next syllable s like the ending of rolls. Some Eastern speakers add hi to the end of each number. When that is done the last i in gi is pronounced short i and the i in the newly added hi is pronounced long e.
talisgosudali is twenty-six in Tsalagi. ta is the English t and short a in tap. li is the English l and short i in lip. s is the same sound in English. go is the English g and long o sound in go. su is the English s and long u in the name Sue. da is the English d and short a in dad. li is the English l and long e sound in the name Lee. talisgosudali is pronounced t – short a – l – short i – s – g – long o – s – long u – d – short a – l – long e.

Some speakers add hi syllable after the go, much like the numbers 21-25 I previously posted. In most books I own, the syllable hi is not added after the syllable go after the number 25. However, growing up I was taught it was there to distinguish twenty, thirty, forty, so on and the following number.

However, growing up I was taught it was there to distinguish twenty, thirty, forty, so on and the following number.
t – short a – l – short i – s – g – long o – h – short i – g – short a – l – short i – qu – long o – g – long e.

NOTE: Some speakers do not pronounce the first short i in li. Instead it is t – short a – l – s – g – long o – h – short i – s – long o – n – long a – l – short a.
Some speakers also do not pronounce the hi; some even leave the syllable out. Instead t – short a – l – s – g – long o – s – long o – n – long a – l – short a.
** If you have noticed a pattern there is one. The numbers by tens (ie. 20, 30, 40, etc) are made by adding the singular form of the number and sgohi (talisgohi is tali (two) + sgohi = twenty; tsoi (three) + sgohi = thirty; etc.).
When doing the inner numbers, you would have the singular form + sgohi + the singulare form. For example twenty-nine is tali (two) + sgohi + sonela (nine); thirty-eight is tsoi (three) + sgohi + tsunela; etc. If you are saying the numbers by tens you just add sgohi to the end of the number. If the number isn’t by ten, but from 21 – 99 you put sgohi between the two numbers.**
I will be doing 30-90 by tens with one number in between to illustrate this pattern in future weeks.
